Pioneering Technology

A great example of how Ideal Standard are pioneers in technology can date back to Germany during the year 1968, where Ideal Standard pioneered the first ceramic disc cartridge and the first single level mixer. The ceramic-on-ceramic seal is second only to diamonds in hardness, and is impervious to sand, lime, scale or high pressure water conditions. The discs are made out of Alumina Oxide fired at 1,400 degrees C and polished to a tolerance of 0.6 microns. Each Cartridge is rigorously tested to operate for over 500,000 on/off cycles at 7,500 KPA without failure, ensuring drip-free use.
